DAY 1 Istanbul
Welcome to Istanbul! You will be transferred to your hotel
located in the heart of capital, Sultanahmet. The remainder
of the day is yours is free to explore.
DAY 2 Istanbul
Soak up the sites of Istanbul this morning as we partake in a
fully guided tour of the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofia, Topkapi
Palace, the Underground Cistern and the Hippodrome. Overnight
in Istanbul.
DAY 3 Istanbul to Cappadocia via Ankara
In the nation’s capital, Ankara, we visit the award winning
ancient Civilisations Museum. Overnight in Cappadocia.
DAY 4 Cappadocia
Get ready to be blown away with a tour of Cappadocia, where
you will visit the ancient Underground City Derinkuyu, open
air museums and strange volcanic cones known as fairy
chimneys. Overnight in Cappadocia.
DAY 5 Cappadocia to Egirdir via Konya
We follow the route of the Camel Caravans on the ancient
silk trail and visit a Caravanseray. Then onto the deep blue
lake Obruk before we reach the Mevlana Museum, home to the
whirling Dervishes. Overnight in Egirdir.
DAY 6 Egirdir to Olympos
Explore Kovada Lake, Candir Canyon on the beautiful Saint
Paul Trail before arriving in Olympos. Tonight, optional visit
to the eternal flames Chimera. Overnight in Olympos. Dinner incl.
DAY 7 Olympos - Optional Gulet Cruise
Today you have a freeday to explore Olympos, its unspoilt
scenery and fascinating history. Overnight in Olympos. Dinner incl.
DAY 8 Olympos to Kas
Today we follow one of the most beautiful areas of
Turkey, the Turquoise Coast. This is a chill-out day with
plenty of swim stops in the gorgeous blue water. Overnight in
Kas.
DAY 9 Kas - Gulet Cruise
You have a free day to do whatever you
choose. Paraglide, swim, recover, relax or take an optional sea
kayaking trip to the Sunken City of Kekova. Overnight in Kas.
DAY 10 Kas to Koycegiz via Saklikent
Get active today as we trek through the Saklikent Canyon and
take a tube ride down the rapids. On the way we will visit a
Carpet Village we learn how Turkish carpets are made by
hand, what determines their value and the historical and
cultural context in which this folk art has
blossomed. Overnight in Koycegiz.
DAY 11 Koycegiz to Selcuk via Pamukkale
Wonder at the spiendor of the famous calcium terraces of
Pamukkale, the hillside soda pools. Overnight in Selcuk
DAY 12 Ephesus
Tour the best preserved classical city in Turkey as we visit
the ancient ruins of Ephesus. Here you will see the Celsus
Library, Grand Theatre and the world’s first advertisement. We
also visit the Selcuk Museum before a Leather goods
display. Turkey produces some of the finest leather goods in
the world and and manya re made here before branding in
Italy. Overnight in Selcuk.
DAY 13 Selcuk to Gallipoli via Pergamum and Troy
Today we drivealong the Aegean coastline to the ancient city
of Pergamum and marvel at its impressive temples, library and
the steepest amphitheatre in theworld. We then visit Troy
where we witness first hand what Homer’s Iliad was all
about. Overnight at Gallipoli.
DAY 14 Gallipoli to Istanbul
Today we visit the WW1 Battlefields of Gallipoli including
Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, Anzac Cove, The Nek,
Johnston’s Jolly and Kaba Tepe Gallipoli Museum. Overnight
in Istanbul.
DAY 15 Istanbul
After breakfast your tour concludes and we say goodbye to our
new friends.
